Torbay has suspended its deputy mayor for three months.
Colleen Tapper was suspended without pay at Monday’s meeting after a complaint to council under the Municipal Councillor’s Code of Conduct.
Council determined that the deputy mayor contravened the code, then decided on the suspension, which includes a requirement to undergo orientation training.
Mayor Craig Scott declined comment, saying it was a human resources matter.
