The summer meeting of Canada’s Premiers will take place in PEI this week.
All 13 provincial and territorial premiers will be in attendance for three days of meetings, which will touch on a number of different topics.
The provincial government says Premier Tony Wakeham will bring several concerns from this province to the table, including strengthening the economy, advancing major projects, and improving healthcare, public safety, and affordability.
In particular, the premier will be focusing on the importance of healthcare funding to the province, and how NL can support Canada’s national defence strategy – including through the proposed floating dry dock at Bull Arm.
A closing news conference will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. island time.
