The second day of the WestJet strike continues with flights grounded at YYT and around the world.

WestJet’s 44-hundred flight attendants walked off the job early Sunday with no contract agreement reached between their union and the company.

In a statement yesterday, Premier Tony Wakeham called for the two to reach an agreement, saying air travel is vital to the province’s tourism industry.

CUPE and WestJet returned to the bargaining table yesterday, but there is no indication of when flights could resume.

Bargaining committee member Cameron Jones says they want to reach an agreement “as soon as possible.”
