There might be a silver lining to the public health measures in place to control the spread of COVID-19, but a flu shot this season is still strongly recommended.
That’s according to local pediatrician Dr. Natalie Bridger.
She says places like Australia are already seeing a decrease in other communicable diseases, likely because of strict public health measures.

Bridger cautions, however, that doesn’t mean that the flu shot isn’t needed this fall.
She says the worst scenario would be to have to deal with a double outbreak in the community.
What they don’t want to see is the dreaded “double pandemic” and everything needs to be done to prevent surges in things like influenza which is itself a very serious illness.
There were no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in the province yesterday.
