A man has been arrested in Deer Lake after hitting two police officers in with his vehicle in Corner Brook yesterday.
Police say that shortly before 2:00 yesterday morning police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was illegally parked in the west end of the city.
The man drove away, striking the two officers in the process.
The suspect was located a short time later in the Curling area of the city.
As officers approached the vehicle, the suspect once again drove away.
Around 12:30 today, the man was located by RCMP in Deer Lake and was arrested without incident.
He has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, two accounts of assault with a weapon – in this case, the vehicle – and flight from police.
He will appear in court tomorrow.
