The MHA for Conception Bay East – Bell Island is pushing to have a new high school built in Portugal Cove-St. Phillips.
David Brazil says following conversations with councillors, school leaders and citizens he has decided to ramp up lobbying for such a project.

Brazil sent a letter to the school board and Education Minister Tom Osborne back in September asking for funding to be allocated in the 2021 provincial budget to begin construction.
Osborne sent a letter back to Brazil stating that the project will be part of budget discussions in the coming year.

Brazil says residents must continue to lobby to show why the new school is needed, further noting that he will be meeting with representatives from the school and town council to discuss the next steps.
