All residents of the province age five and older can now receive their flu shot in a community pharmacy for free.
The Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador says it is more important now than ever to get a flu shot. Association president Janice Audeau says having the flu will make you more vulnerable to a harsher attack of COVID-19, which will complicate the treatment.
Getting the shot in a pharmacy will look different than in past years. The biggest change is that everyone can avail of the shot at no charge. There are also restrictions related to physical distancing and limits on the number of people that can be in the pharmacy waiting area.
People have to call ahead to see if an appointment is necessary.
