An MHA in the House of Assembly says there continues to be a lack of accountability at Nalcor despite the findings of the LeBlanc Inquiry into Muskrat Falls.
Government has said that the recommendations will be implemented.
Mount Pearl-Southlands MHA Paul Lane first asked then-Auditor General Terry Paddon to audit Nalcor some four years ago. He is now being told three AGs later that the report won’t be publicly released before the end of winter.
Lane says the “suits” at Nalcor continue to go about their business, seemingly oblivious to the fact that they work for us. He wants answers on several concerns, including executive pay and bonuses.
Lane wasn’t looking for an audit of specific contracts with various entities as there may very well be commercial sensitivity but he can’t understand why answers regarding the day-to-day running of Nalcor can’t be forthcoming.
