The Canadian Cancer Society is turning to the public for support for Daffodil Place.
The 24-room facility offers affordable accommodations for cancer patients who must travel to St. John’s for care and treatment.
COVID-19 forced Daffodil Place to close for three months but reopened in July.
Earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic Daffodil Place was forced to close their doors.
They have since re-opened and are back to serving Newfoundlanders and Labradorians living with Cancer.

The director of revenue development with the Canadian Cancer Society, Al Pelley, says their annual operating costs are in the range of $700,000 dollars but COVID has added to those costs.
This year it will be more like $775,000 dollars due to added cleaning supplies, training and PPE among other things.
In-person fundraising events had to be suspended because of the pandemic, leaving the Canadian Cancer Society with up to $1 million dollars less to work with this year.
VOCM is hosting a 24-hour radiothon starting 8:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19th in aid of the Canadian Cancer Society.
