The end of an era will be celebrated virtually later this month by the Registered Nurses’ Union of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Debbie Forward is set to retire at the end of the year, and the union is planning a virtual retirement gala for November 24th on Facebook.
Forward has been representing the province’s 5,300 registered nurses and nurse practitioners as their union president for the last 24 years. She’s long been known as a strong leader and a fierce negotiator in dealing with government on her members’ behalf.
Forward began her career after graduating from Memorial University’s Bachelor of Nursing program in 1980 and furthered her education, earning a Masters in Education (Psychology) from MUN in 2001.
Members of the registered nurses union and the general public are asked to RSVP through this Facebook page.
