Police are investigating the theft of some $8,000 in metal and parts after someone cut their way through a shipping container at a recycling yard in Marystown.
The incident happened last Thursday, sometime between 3:00 and 6:30 in the morning. Officers were called to Newco Metal and Auto Recycling to find that someone had managed to cut a square hole through the side of a large shipping container and pilfered its contents.
The stolen material includes copper wire, car batteries, and catalytic converters.
