A man who has been charged for violating rules around isolation and COVID-19 has been released.
The 24-year-old, a resident of Fort McMurray, was pulled over by the RNC around 4 a.m. Sunday in Corner Brook but immediately ran from his vehicle before being chased down and arrested by police.
He was charged under the Provincial Special Measures Orders for failing to self-isolate as he had arrived in the province from Alberta two days earlier.
He is the second person to be charged by the RNC in this province for failing to abide by COVID rules. Presumably, he is now self-isolating.
