The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested two men following two separate assaults in the capital city this morning.
The first incident happened just after 3 a.m. at a home in the center city area.
When they arrived, police located a woman who they say sustained non-life threatening injuries.
As a result, a 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats. He was held for court.
Then, just after 9 a.m. police responded to reports of a disturbance at an apartment building downtown.
On arrival, officers spoke with a woman who had “visible injuries.” The suspect had since left the scene but was found a short time later.
As a result, a 39-year-old from St. John’s has been charged with assault and breach of a court order.
He was released to appear in court at a later date.
