The NL Association of Realtors is reporting increases in both housing sales and prices across the province over the last year.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady updated the numbers yesterday, indicating that housing starts over the first three quarters of 2021 were up 51.8 per cent over the same time last year, while home sales were up 60.5 per cent in the first ten months of the year.
Association of Realtors CEO, Bill Stirling, says the local real estate market is balanced right now.
That varies according to some regions and even some neighbourhoods, but overall, he says the market in Newfoundland and Labrador is balanced.
“Who would have thought a pandemic would be good for the real estate industry?” says Stirling.
