The Association for New Canadians has officially announced the winners of this year’s diversity awards.

The awards were presented at yesterday’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism and Inclusion summit.

Awards were given out in six categories, including Cultural Educator of the Year, and the Anti-Racism and Inclusivity Award (18 and under).

· Cultural Educator of the Year: Natasha Hart, Lakecrest School

· Anti-Racism and Inclusivity Youth Award (18 & under): Georgia Heffernan, Kenneth Hartlaub and Alexia Bishop (students at Lakecrest School)

· Bridget Foster Cultural Business Icon: Constanza Safatle, Newbornlander

· Mcinnes CooperCommunity Hero: Penny McDonald, Franchise Owner, McDonald’s (Grand Falls-Windsor and Lewisporte)

· RBC Diversity Leadership Award: Wanda Cuff-Young, President, Work Global Canada Inc.

· Hospitality NL International Ambassador Award: Karen and Chris Ricketts, Round Da Bay Inn, Plate Cove West
