The regional health authorities have made a deal with Equifax Canada to provide credit monitoring services to people whose personal information was breached in the cyber-attack, including employees and patients.
Affected individuals will not have to pay for the monitoring, which will allow them to monitor their credit and identity information and respond to fraudulent activity.
Those looking to enroll can call 1-833-718-3021, and should be prepared to answer three qualifying questions.
Employees will receive a letter with enrollment instructions by November 30, while those who have also been patients do not need to sign up twice.
Information on the service package can be found on Eastern Health’s IT Outage website.
