The Canadian Coast Guard says it has successfully delivered much-needed hospital supplies to Port aux Basques.
The Coast Guard is part of the federal response in the wake of the recent storm and washouts on the southwest coast of the island.
A Bell 412 helicopter was moved from St. John’s to Stephenville on Saturday, with the first flight delivering some 400 pounds of medical supplies to Port aux Basques on Sunday morning.
Later, the same chopper made a return trip with about 1,200 pounds of fresh milk which was delivered to the community of St. Andrews in the Codroy Valley.
