The proceeds from the Fitz’s Cold Beer sign auction have been delivered to the Cancer Care Foundation—and at a much higher amount than previously noted.
A cheque for $7,500 was officially presented to the foundation on Thursday.
Landwash Brewery made the winning bid for the sign at $4,300.
Wayne Bartlett of Bartlett Auctions explains other pledges that were made brought that total up to about $6,000, and his company donated the final amount to bring it to an even $7,500.
Angie Fitzpatrick, daughter of the late John Fitzpatrick, says her father would be very happy with the money that was raised.
With her father’s community impact the focus of much attention over the last few weeks, Fitzpatrick says it’s been “overwhelming” to see the support as it shows just how loved her dad was in the community.
