A second planeload of refugees from war-torn Ukraine will arrive in St. John’s next week.
The first flight, carrying 166 people, touched down a month ago and the latest airlift is scheduled to arrive at St. John’s International from Warsaw on Tuesday.
All arriving Ukrainians have been granted the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel Visa that permits them to live and work in Canada for up to three years. Ukrainians arriving in Newfoundland and Labrador also receive coverage under MCP.
Most newcomers will be transported to pre-arranged accommodations in the St. John’s area to rest and begin adjusting to their new surroundings while others will travel on to stay with family and friends throughout the province.
