A goutweed support group is providing tips on how to combat the pesky garden bed invader.

The plant is known for its unwavering ability to persevere in the face of the most comprehensive attempts to eradicate it.

It’s so stubborn that there’s even a support group on Facebook where goutweed survivors can find compassion and share methods in how to beat the botanical menace.

The administrator of the Gout Weed Support Group, Glynis Thomas, says she was able to eradicate the weed from a section of her yard by forking it out on her hands and knees.

She said that process involves lifting the goutweed and earth up gently and carefully, and teasing every single root out. She recommends watching the area over the next three years for any pieces that may have broken off and are coming back up.
