The tourism industry in Newfoundland and Labrador seems to be returning after a couple of years of operating in the pandemic.
Barry Rogers, President of Iceberg Quest Tours, noted previously that St. John’s was quiet compared to pre-pandemic years when the province opened its borders to the rest of Canada.
Now, Rogers is seeing a rise in activity as icebergs are more plentiful this year than last.
Rogers says they used the pandemic to work on their social media and marketing. This year, Iceberg Quest is seeing success.
One of the marketing strategies Rogers decided to try was concert cruises, with performances from members of the Navigators and the Irish Descendants. Rogers says tourists will receive a warm welcome from locals.
Rogers says that locals embrace newcomers to the province, and that has more value than whales and icebergs.
