The College of the North Atlantic is adding 92 new seats to its Licenced Practical Nursing program.
Skills Minister Gerry Byrne and Health Minister John Haggie announced $3.9 million dollars for the expansion in Gander yesterday.
That expansion includes new seats at four campuses that have not yet provided LPN training.
The includes CNA campuses in Bay. St. George, Burin, Gander and St. Anthony, and the addition of eight more seats in Carbonear, meaning 236 new LPNs will be graduating annually.
Minister Byrne says those positions are critical in helping to fill the need in the health care and long-term health systems.
