Eastern Health is implementing a plan to combat a global catheter supply shortage.
There is a limited stock and vendors are allocating catheters based on need.
Eastern Health says they have not been affected by the shortage so far, but are implementing guidelines to conserve epidural catheters.
The shortage is expected to last throughout the summer. The province is in contact with vendors to try and secure an adequate supply.
