A local driver is frustrated with the way in which Motor Vehicle Registration handles walk-in appointments.
Gareth Rowberry had to wait for hours yesterday when he showed up for walk-in service while he was off work. After more than two hours, he says, only four walk-ins had been served.
When he approached a manager to ask about the wait he was told that priority is given to those who have pre-scheduled appointments, however, he says not everyone has the ability to pre-book because of work commitments.
Rowberry asks why they bother offering walk-ins, if there isn’t enough staff or resources to accommodate them.
He advises Motor Vehicle Registration to “review your service….provide a wicket specifically for walk-ins and if there are no walk-ins, then roll it over to help out with pre-scheduled appointments.”
