Waitlist registration will open next week for the first few locations providing the province’s first pre-Kindergarten pilot program.

The pre-Kindergarten program will open in phases across the province with five locations expected to open before the end of November.

Registration opens next week for East Point Elementary in St. John’s, Elizabeth Park Elementary in Paradise, Elwood Elementary in Deer Lake, Gander Academy, and Peacock Primary in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The second phase of locations is expected to open between December and early 2023. The provincial government says global supply chain shortages are continuing to affect scheduled openings, but it’s hoped all 35 locations will be open by the end of March, 2023.

The YMCA, which will operate the programs across the province, will open its waitlist registration beginning 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8th.
