A run meant to bring awareness to women’s health is set to go ahead in the capital city this morning.
The Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women takes place across Canada, including an event at Quidi Vidi Lake where participants can sign up to run or walk 5-10 km.
Laura Malone, manager of community investment with Shoppers Drug Mart, says all funds raised will go towards improving the health of Canadian women.
She says they work with over 360 charities across the country on initiatives to bring awareness and increase resources for women’s health.
In this province, money raised will support Stella’s Circle and programs to help women dealing with the criminal justice system and experiencing homelessness.
The run takes place this morning at 8:30 a.m. at The Boulevard near Quidi Vidi Lake.
