The Port of Argentia is gearing up for some big work to take place, but it will still be a while yet before things actually get underway.
Yesterday the federal government announced $38 million to expand the port—including expanded berthing and dockside spaces, as well as a roll-on roll-off ramp.
CEO Scott Penney says they are currently reviewing the results of their Geotech work on the site itself.
They are currently focused on compiling their environmental application—which they believe can be processed quickly. Penney hopes shovels can be in the ground in a year-and-a-half.
