For the first time ever, Newfoundland and Labrador will be hosting a qualifier event for the RBC PGA Scramble Golf Tournament.
Sixteen teams will hit the green at the Wilds Resort on Salmonier Line in August for a chance to compete in the largest golfing event in Canada.
Jeremy Rivando, Director of Golf at The Wilds, says winners of the local event will move onto regionals in New Brunswick. From there, the top 20 teams will go on to play in the Scramble in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
With over 10,000 players aiming for an appearance at the Scramble, Rivando is excited to offer the opportunity to locals.
Rivando says hosting a qualifier event in this province gives local golfers a chance at the trip of a lifetime. Those lucky to putt their way into the tournament receive an all inclusive trip to the Cabot Cliffs Resort—one of the highest rated courses in the country.
