The MHA for Baie Verte-Green Bay is stepping down from his position.
Brian Warr posted the update to his Facebook account this morning, saying that he has made the “difficult decision” so he can “pursue other opportunities that will keep [him] closer to home.”
Warr was first elected as a member of the Dwight Ball government in 2015.
During his eight-year tenure as an MHA he served in various roles, including Education Minister, and Minister of Children, Seniors, and Social Development.
Warr says it has been an honour to serve as MHA, and thanks his supporters, noting that he has been “humbled by [the]graciousness and kindness.”
In a statement on X, Premier Andrew Furey thanks Warr for his commitment to the province.
On behalf of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, I would like to thank MHA Brian Warr and his family for their commitment to our province as Brian has represented the District of Baie Verte-Green Bay for more than eight years. pic.twitter.com/3IvQoi247Y
