Brad Gushue’s Team Canada/Newfoundland and Labrador rink can earn a spot in the Brier final with a win tonight against Alberta, skipped by Brendan Bottcher.
The Gushue rink is going for a three-peat and sixth Brier title in Regina, Sask., the site of this province’s first men’s championship back in 1976, courtesy of the Jack MacDuff rink.
Gushue sputtered out of the gate this week but the team hit its stride when it mattered.
Tonight’s 1-2 page playoff game starts just after 9:30 Newfoundland time, with the winner advancing to Sunday’s final.
The loser of that game, and the winner of this afternoon’s 3/4 playoff game between Manitoba and Saskatchewan meet in tomorrow’s semifinal.
