A 33-year-old former employee of the town of Gambo has been charged with theft and fraud as the result of a police investigation and forensic audit carried out on the town’s books.
The town had hired a chartered accountant to carry out a forensic audit and discovered that $75,000 was missing. They contacted the RCMP in March who launched an investigation.
RCMP say a former town employee has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
She is set to make her first appearance in Gander Provincial Court on December 2nd.
