The latest provincial update on the fires burning in Newfoundland is coming this morning.
In the latest update provided last night, crews reported making progress in supressing the Kingston fire through aerial and ground efforts.
The fire at Paddy’s Pond remains hot and smokey, however no air resources were needed yesterday as crews focused on the hot spots.
Officials are also reporting good progress on the fire at Martin Lake. Government says residents can expect to see less smoke today, however the fire remains active.
Today’s update is taking place at 10:15 with Premier John Hogan, Forestry Minister Lisa Dempster, and Public Safety Minister John Haggie. VOCM News will cover it live.
