The Coast Guard has issued a $15,000 penalty to the owner of a 32-foot power boat for causing a hazard to public safety and the marine environment.
The Collette is located in Seal Cove, Conception Bay South.
The Coast Guard says wrecked, abandoned, or hazardous vessels can pose threats to residents, navigators, the community and the surrounding environment.
The owner has been directed to remove or repair the vessel to ensure that any potential hazards are properly addressed.
The $15,000 fine must be paid within 30 days.
