It will be next year before the town of Paradise brings down its municipal budget.
The town, which was granted an extension, is scheduled to table the budget January 29th.
Mayor Patrick Martin says 2025 has been a challenging year for the town, starting with a fire in February that caused extensive damage to the Town Hall and depot. Since then staff have been working with the insurance company to assess the damage and determine necessary repairs.
Adjustors need time to complete the system reviews and assessments required to determine replacement value.
Because moving forward on that is a big part of the budget, the town sought and was granted an extension on delivering its budget.
