A 38-year-old man is facing charges after a disturbance at a remote cabin near Glenwood early New Year’s morning.
Gander RCMP were contacted around 3:40 in the morning on January 1st informing them that a number of people had been assaulted during a disturbance at a cabin on Salmon Pond Access Road.
Police were told that a group of suspects left the area on snowmobile after threatening to light the cabin on fire.
Volunteers with Bonavista Bay Search and Rescue were contacted to help access the remote cabin in heavy snow.
When police arrived, they found a number of people with injuries, and arrested 38-year-old Robert Coles at a nearby cabin.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance on charges of uttering threats and damage to property. Further charges are possible.
