Trial dates have been set for a New Brunswick man facing child pornography charges involving the same girl he was convicted of abducting.
Seventy-four-year-old Will Crockwell was sentenced last year to 12 months’ house arrest for trying to help the teenage girl escape guardianship of this province and go to his home in New Brunswick.
It triggered a rare Amber Alert that led to his arrest and safe return of the girl to St. John’s.
But it’s alleged he was also sharing child pornography with the girl, whom he knew through her mother, around the same time they were plotting her departure in June of 2023.
Crockwell was formally arraigned in Supreme Court this morning on charges of making, accessing and possessing child pornography.
Appearing in court by phone from his home in New Brunswick, he flatly denied the allegations, stating: “Definitely not guilty — I have no knowledge of it.”
Crockwell has chosen to be tried by Supreme Court judge alone, with a four-day trial set for early October.
