A 41-year-old man was ticketed, and the car he was driving was seized after a traffic stop revealed that his licence was suspended.
RCMP in Bay St. George pulled the man’s car over on Main Street in Stephenville Thursday evening.
The driver explained to police that he recently bought the vehicle and while he produced a valid temporary insurance certificate, he failed to present a driver’s licence.
That’s because he was under suspension, and the registration for the vehicle in question had not been transferred.
He was ticketed for driving while disqualified and failing to notify the registrar of transfer of ownership. The man’s new purchase was seized and impounded.
