Newfoundland has plunged into a deep freeze.
Environment Canada meteorologist Robert Grove says many woke up to frigid temperatures this morning, and it’s only going to get colder.
He says wind chills will dip down to the negative teens or the low minus 20s by this evening.
A cold warning is in place for portions of the Northern Peninsula where winds gusting to 100 km or more will create wind chills as low as -35.
Temperatures will return to more seasonal values tomorrow.
