The President of the Nunatsiavut Government says he’s open to exploring greater opportunities and collaboration with the Inuit of Greenland.
Johannes Lampe was part of a Canadian delegation who recently travelled to Nuuk to open a Canadian consulate in Greenland.
He says there are many commonalities between the Inuit of Canada and Greenland.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who is continuing to express a desire for American ownership and control of Greenland, has ruled out a military takeover in his address to the World Economic Forum in January.
Lampe says Nuuk is a mere 546 nautical miles from Nain and he sees opportunities for greater collaboration with Greenlandic Inuit.
