The provincial government is extending temporary assistance to residents of the Conception Bay North Shore displaced by last summer’s fires, to the end of September.
NL Housing is currently analyzing the 47 households currently receiving assistance through the program and will work with those families to help identify long-term support.
Minister of Housing and Social Supports and Well-Being Joedy Wall acknowledges that affected families have a long road ahead, but they won’t have to “walk it alone.”
Area MHA Riley Balsom says he’s pleased to see the program extended and says government is committed to rebuilding.
