A 28-year-old man from Grand Bank is facing a list of charges after confronting the occupant of a home in Fortune late last month.
RCMP were called about an unwanted man inside a home on Forest Road in Fortune on Tuesday, March 31st.
According to police, the suspect, who was armed with a concealed weapon, entered the home and confronted a person inside.
The suspect and victim were known to each other.
The suspect fled before police arrived, but patrols resulted in the arrest of Anthony Hoskins who matched the description given to police outside a business in Grand Bank.
He’s now facing a number of weapons related charges including careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and being unlawfully in a dwelling.
The full list of charges against Anthony Hoskins includes:
- Being unlawfully in a dwelling house,
- Careless use of a firearm,
- Carrying a concealed weapon,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
- Possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized,
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence,
- Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
- Fail to comply with a Probation Order – two counts.
