The unemployment rate in Canada did not change last month from February, but there was a slight increase in Newfoundland and Labrador.

It stood at 9.5 per cent in this province in March, up from 9.2 the month before.

Average hourly wages, nationally, went up by 4.7 per cent year-over-year to $37.73.
