A hall of fame soccer player from St. John’s who helped Holy Cross to the national men’s championship in 1988 has died.
Bernard “Fox” Reddy played his entire career with the Red and Gold, many years as captain. In 1970, he suited up for Memorial University and was runner-up for provincial player of the decade.
He also coached youth soccer for many years. Brian, one of his children, says he left an impact on everyone he met, and that he was passionate about soccer and loved the game.
He and brothers Gerry and Paul formed a formidable trio for Holy Cross over the years.
“The Holy Cross corner at KGV will not be the same without the Holy Cross legend,” says Brian.
He is resting at Caul’s Funeral Home until tonight with services scheduled for tomorrow morning from St. Teresa’s in Mundy Pond.
