The Victoria Day weekend is upon us, but the weather on the island does not appear to be any great shakes – at least not for the first couple of days.
However, in Labrador it’s a different story as the mercury could hit 20 degrees in some parts.
Environment Canada forecasts sunshine and 17 degrees Friday in the Upper Lake Melville region, and 20 degrees on Saturday.
Meteorologist Jason Sheppard, speaking on Your VOCM Mornings, said things on the Avalon will warm up gradually throughout the weekend, reaching the mid teens by Sunday.
“It will be showery for the beginning of the weekend as well as Saturday, but things improve considerably on Sunday,” says Sheppard.
