A town in the metro region is celebrating a new step forward with the addition of new accessible play features at one of its main outdoor recreation facilities.
Visitors to Rainbow Gully Park will now be able to enjoy an inclusive surface spinner, a generational swing designed for side-by-side play, and an interactive communications board. The communication boards, which use symbols to assist non-verbal, speech limited, or young residents in expressing themselves, will also be rolled out to other open green spaces in the community in the coming months.
The provincial government pitched in with a $25,000 grant.
