Revenue is up slightly at the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation.
The NLC has released its first quarter results for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, up to July 4th.
Net earnings for the quarter were nearly $48-million, an increase of $1.7-million from the previous year.
The crown corporation attributes the bump mainly to a 21.3 per cent increase in commissions earned on the sale of beer through Brewers’ Agents due to adjustments made last year.
Beverage alcohol sales were $75.8-million in Q1, a slight increase from the previous year. Beer and wine sales increased, while the sale of spirits and ready-to-drink items declined.
$29.3-million worth of cannabis products were sold in-store during the quarter, a 2.5 per cent drop year-over-year. About $100,000 worth of product was sold online.
