A novice driver from Corner Brook is facing some hefty penalties after attempting to flee from officers this week.

On Wednesday morning, officers tried to pull over a driver in the Country Road area of Corner Brook.

However, the woman refused to stop and instead fled the scene.

Shortly after, officers found the woman leaving her vehicle, and took her into custody.

The 33-year-old woman was charged with flight from police, as well as seven charges under the highway traffic act.

She is due to appear in court in October.
