Harbour Grace and Bay Roberts RCMP took four impaired drivers off the roads in five days, including three who were nearly three times over.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on October 7, Police were called to reports of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the main road in Shearstown. Police found a 25-year-old man from Clarke’s Beach behind the wheel who is said to be more than two-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
Then around 9:30 p.m. on October 8, police received reports that a vehicle had struck a utility pole on Water Street in Bay Roberts. A 49-year-old Bay Roberts man was arrested and blew three times the legal limit.
The next day at 11 p.m., police pulled over a 70-year-old man in Carbonear who was two-and-a-half times over. All three were released to appear in court at a later date.
Also, a 64-year-old man from Western Bay was charged for driving under the influence on the Veterans Memorial Highway near Bay Roberts on the 13th.
