Health officials are reporting one new case of COVID-19 today.
The new case involves a man in his 40s in the Western Health Region. The man is a close contact of a previous case, living in the same extended household.
Due to being previously identified as a close contact, the man was already isolating during his infectious period and there is no risk of transmission to the community. Contact tracing by public health has been completed.
The province now has nine active cases. 47,753 people have been tested for the virus.
