Despite significant challenges this year, Newfoundland and Labrador’s only flight training school in Gander is enjoying a busy year.
Because of COVID-19, Gander Flight Training was not able to accept international students for most of the year. However, Pat White, the president and CEO of the school, says they are enjoying a healthy enrolment with domestic students.
80 full-time and 15 part-time students have or are being, trained for their pilot’s licence in 2020.
International students are trying to register for classes in January, but it’s still up in the air because of uncertainty with COVID-19.
White, who also owns EVAS Air, says they have been so busy this year that they have hired four new full-time flight instructors.
